Government of Alberta: Justice and Attorney General
http://www.justice.gov.ab.ca/home/ This website provides background information on the various responsibilities the Government of Alberta has given the Justice Department to ensure we live in a safe and fair society. You can connect with the Justice Speaker's Bureau to invite a professional to come and talk with your students about the law. There is an educational section that includes a grade 3 level unit called Albert'a Justice System in Your Community as well as other activities that contain cross curricular connections for teachers.

http://canada.gc.ca/home.html This A to Z resource explains everything about the Canadian Government. There is a section titled About Parliament that contains some classroom ready resources as well as background information for educators.
Government of Alberta
http://alberta.ca/home/ Information regarding the organization of priorities of and people involved with the Alberta Government is included in this website. Under the Human Rights and Citizenship Commission, you can order posters on human rights for a small fee. There is also an annotated bibliography on literature for children pertaining to human rights.
